California’s agricultural and working lands are a major source of the world’s food supply, in addition to providing habitat, economic vitality, and other benefits to California.
We help those in agriculture, ranching, and forestry, as well as agencies, NGOs, and communities with a stake in keeping working lands working, identify and work toward sustainable solutions for all.
OBJECTIVES-DRIVEN
All of our work, from the design of large multi-year systems change projects, to the creation of agendas for effective meetings, begins with a careful process of clarifying the outcomes that are hoped to be achieved. Working with project sponsors and participants, we help clarify exactly what success means, and how we will know we have achieved it. We never put process in front of outcomes. Our process recommendations are always based on what we believe is the best way to accomplish the group’s ultimate goal.

Our current work is focused on conserving the most productive working lands in the face of multiple pressures, including drought, water restrictions, changing soils, and a changing labor market, and strengthening integrated pest management practices in California.
